CLUB ANNOUNCEMENT
Friday 16th May 2025.
Buckland Athletic FC are pleased to finalise Matt Cusack’s management team following confirmation that both Shane Reavey and Paige Burrows will remain with the club for the 2025/26 season.
Despite competing offers from other clubs; Reavey has decided to return to The VX3 Stadium – Homers Heath dugout next season, entering into a new role alongside Cusack and Dan Harrison as First Team Coach.
Shane brings a wealth of coaching knowledge to the management quartet, being UEFA B qualified and having seven years experience working for the FAI (Irish Football Association). During this time, he was responsible for Elite Player Development and working with International Squads.
In addition, the Irish-born coach managed Monaghan United U21’s in the League of Ireland and in 2011, assisted Monaghan United 1st Team in their promotion winning season to the League of Ireland Premier Division.
Closer to home, Reavey joined the club in 2018 as a player in our Reserve side, winning the Herald Cup in his debut season. However, after hanging up his boots, Shane has remained involved with the club off the field as a Committee Member and Player Development Officer before joining Dan Hart’s management team as Performance Analyst last season.
Buckland Athletic FC are thrilled that he has decided to return for next season, in a new role that will see him be imperative in the coaching set-up of the side.
Also returning will be Club Physiotherapist, Paige Burrows, for the 2025/26 season. Paige now enters into her eleventh season with the club, and undoubtedly is the squad’s “twelfth (wo)man”.
Earning her degree in Sports Therapy from the University of St Mark and St John, she is also fully qualified to treat concussion, cardiac arrest and rehabilitation injuries.
Away from the club, she supports South Devon College with the physio treatment of their football teams and runs her own business, FirstKicks Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation from our site at The VX3 Stadium – Homers Heath.
Again, the club are delighted that Paige continues her role at the club and will certainly be vital to the success of the squad, through her ongoing support and treatment throughout the season.
